The gap between a lab-certified success and a production-floor failure usually lives in the unwritten variables of the testing process. To protect your margins, you need to look past the raw numbers and audit the methodology.

1. Tensile Strength: Why “Fast” Testing is a Procurement Red Flag

 

Tensile strength (measured via ASTM D5035 or ISO 3342) is essentially the “skeleton” of your material. It dictates whether the mat will survive the high-tension pull of an automated lamination line or crumble under its own weight.

One of the most common ways to “fluff” a report is by manipulating the Cross-head Speed.
